As we awoke Thursday morning, after a beautiful rainbow setting (double one at that) Wednesday night, we expected to start the day with a bang.. With news of the Vancouver Canucks losing to the \Boston Bruins, as well as cloudy skies and winds from the Arctic (at least it felt like it), the mood at camp was a little somber. That hardly put a damper on the plans for the day.
As previously mentioned in the other posts, the camp counsellors are great at what they do. They planned for an array of activities that could be done indoors. The students broke into three groups. One group played bingo under an open tent and did a few other activities. Another group painted flags and created other pieces of art, showing off their artistic abilities, in the cafeteria. Finally the last group had their own version of American Idol, named appropriately enough "Istorlet Idol". I remained with this station all morning. I was thrilled to see so many students participate, wearing a variety of crazy, funny looking costumes and accessories. They danced, they laughed, and had a great time. It was a blast! The top 3 acts voted by the judges present to all the students tonight. Looking forward to it. Who knows, the teachers may have number in store for them. Stay tuned!
