More Fundraising

Those of you who would like more tickets to sell for the Caps 50/50 send in a note with the number of tickets you would like.  I would like to have Thursday as our printing day.   Does anyone know if we have another bagging groceries day.  I thought someone had booked in at Sobeys.  If you know the answer to that question please email me at kzgallant@edu.pe.ca

Three more fundraisers to add to our list.
1) Christmas Wreaths! You will all be receiving a note tomorrow night (check backpacks) about Christmas wreaths.

2) Mark off January 20th as a musical evening.  Mario Robichaud and friends will be doing a concert to help support the trip.  More details to come later.

3) February 12th- B-I-N-G-O.  We have the St.Eleanors Lions Club booked in the afternoon for BINGO.  This will be discussed also a bit closer to the date.

Email list

Hi everyone!

I'm just compiling an email list to keep everyone informed about fundraising events.  Later on today I will be sending out a mass email with all the names I have received so far.  If you do not receive an email it means you're not on my list!  Send me an email at jxgalle@edu.pe.ca and I'll add you.  If you do receive an email, no need to respond!

Have a great day,

Jennifer Gallé

50/50 Caps fundraiser

Here is a copy of the note that was sent home with students yesterday.  I would also like to add that the people buying the tickets do not have to be present at the game to win the money.  The numbers are posted online.

Dear parent(s) or Guardian(s);

It is hard to believe it is mid-November already. I hope everyone is checking the blog and your child’s backpacks for notices in regards to fund-raising events. Our latest fund-raiser will be a 50/50 draw at the Caps game on Sunday December 12th. With this event students will be fund-raising independently, therefor, the more they sell the more profit to be made. Students are to pre-sell 50/50 tickets for the Caps game. Tickets are $10.00 and the pot starts at $4000.00. The students will make $4.70 from each $10.00. The slightly tricky part is that if you ask for 10 tickets, you are responsible for selling those 10 tickets. If you do not sell them all, you are responsible for purchasing them. We cannot return unsold tickets. With that said, we can ask for a small amount of tickets, sell them, then print more. This way we would not have extra tickets. There is no problem to print more tickets when we need them. I really think that this could be a great fund-raiser. If you are interested in this fund-raiser send in the form below immediately. We will be printing our first batch of tickets on Friday.
Mme Krista, Mme Jen, M. Robichaud

Congratulations to the bagging groceries group

Congrats to all of the Grade 6 students that bagged groceries at the Superstore on Nov 13th.  The students raised $ 1273.80.  Each student made almost $20.00 per hour they worked.  Great job everyone and a big thank you to Twila Arsenault for organizing the event and to the parents that volunteered to supervise.

Long Overdue!!!

Sorry it has taken me awhile to get things organized.  Things were just starting to come together, I had booked our school gym for a few dances and booked a day for a flea market.  Then came the mold :(       On the brighter side there has been some parents that have started taking some initiative to get things going.  Mme Jen, M. Robichaud and I plan on taking on a supporting role to the fundraising.  We sent out an email to our fundraising committee about having a  parent take on the role as chair.  This person will be the contact person for booking events.  She will post it on the blog and support parents in their efforts to raise funds.  All finances will go through myself and/or our school Administrative Assistant, Carole Yeo.  We already have an account set up for this and have a spreadsheet for both fund-raising and payments.   Stacey Delaney has graciously taken on the role of chair.  Assissting her will be Angie Matheson. I will send along their contact information shortly as well as some events that parents have begun to plan.

Fundraising committee!!

Thanks to all of you who have offered to help out with the fundraising committee.  I will be setting up a time for us to meet early next week.  If there are more parents who are interested in helping fundraise, send me a quick email so that I can get your name and email on our list.  My email address is kzgallant@edu.pe.ca
Also, I would like to remind parents that we are hoping to get most of the deposits in before Friday. If this is not possible send me an email or a note to school with your child.  I need to know who is interested in participating and the approximate time when the deposit can be made.  If funds are a concern, please come speak to myself or your child's teacher.  The earlier we are told, the more we can do!!!  Any child that wants to participate in this experience will have have the opportunity to participate.  I will be meeting with the facilitator from the Camp at the teacher's convention in mid-October.  I will have more news to tell you then!

Thanks,

Krista

The beginning!!!!

Welcome everyone,  I am hoping that this will be an easy and effective way to communicate information and updates to parents.  I will be telling the students when a new entry has been added to the blog, however, it wouldn't hurt to check it periodically.  Many fundraising events or ideas will be posted here as well as information regarding things the students should bring, what they should expect at le centre nautique de l'Istorlet, the camp in which we are participating and lodging at.  Le centre nautique de l'Istorlet's website is http://www.istorlet.com/ if you would like to check it out. We will also be using the blog to update parents as to how the trip is progressing.  This is such an exciting adventure for your child to embark on.  I am certain that it will only increase their love and passion for the french language and culture.  I am looking forward to our Wednesday night meeting at 6:30 PM.  See you all there!
